Rick Meyers

Biography of Rick Meyers
I was born in Napoleon, Ohio which is about fifty miles south of Toledo. I was raised on a farm. where we
did all the typical kid things involving family and fresh air. I come from a very creative family. As a kid I
was always painting or sculpting. I am a classically trained artist. I obtained my BFA from Siena Heights
University in Adrian, Michigan in 1976.
My art is influenced by: van Gogh, Gauguin, Cezanne and Picasso. I paint in a cubist style and in an
impressionist style. Recently I have been exploring ceramics where my work is utilitarian or of very
whimsical sculptures relating to the human form and animals.
